Mountaineer saddles up on Conference Bike

Written by Fiona August 13 2010

Earlier this week Mike Dales of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland jumped in the saddle of the bizarre looking Conference Bicycle as it headed through Edinburgh. The BiCo UK challenge sees the seven-seater bike heading from John O’Groats to Land’s End this month in a bid to raise lots of money for Cancer research UK. I wrote about the BiCo UK event earlier.

Just so you can get an idea of what it looks like here is Mike (on the left), with other cyclists  Derek, Mercedes and Alison. He tells me it was one of the most bonkers  cycles ever – but a huge amount of fun. “Going down steep hills at high speed was especially crazy,” he added. And all for charidy, too! Good effort Mike.
