This Friday (January 27) sees the start of the 2017 Peebles Outdoor Film Festival. It includes a host of events such as adventure films from around the world, inspiring speakers and outdoor sessions in the Scottish Borders.

Held at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles, the festival opens with a special appearance by extreme adventurer Sean Conway, recently the subject of a documentary series on Discovery Channel having completed the world’s longest triathlon – a 4,200-mile cycle, run and swim circumnavigating the entire coast of mainland Britain.

Festival-goers should look out too for much-anticipated appearances by:

The festival continues throughout the weekend, with tickets still available for many of the sessions. Call Eastgate Theatre on 01721 725777, or check online www.eastgatearts.com
