Be inspired: Get Outdoors with the Ramblers

Written by Fiona

July 28 2015

I wrote recently about the Ramblers and the growth of groups of younger people. I guess this is an organisation that has been traditionally linked to older walkers but these days the age range is growing. Ramblers Scotland are keen to encourage more people of all ages, especially youngsters, and a spectrum of abilities to enjoy our countryside on foot. This is something I support. There are walking routes for all in Scotland and it’s a wonderfully accessible form of exercise.

Next month, from August 1 to 3, Ramblers Scotland will host a Get Outdoors Weekend, offering everyone a chance to walk trails and routes on self-guided outings or as part of a guided walk. I have written about the get Outdoors weekend in the Sunday Mail (read pdf) and highlighted some inspiring “walking saved my life” stories in the Daily Record.
