Foxlake Adventures in East Lothian is celebrating its firth anniversary with the launch of a fifth outdoor activity, the ZipTrail. The dual zip wire course, features three zones up to 30ft high with eight obstacles that span a combined length of 900m.
The award-winning social enterprise created Scotland’s first cable wakeboarding park, located in Dunbar. It started in 2012 with one overhead cable that pulls wakeboards over the surface of a 180m loch. A second wakeboarding cable was then introduced, followed by an above-water harness-free obstacle ropes course, inflatable ringo rides and segways.
The latest addition to the Four Star VisitScotland attraction is the ZipTrail, which features three zones with 12 ‘dual’ zip wires, where two people can fly through woodland simultaneously. It is due to open on July 22.
Foxlake Adventures Director, James Barbour said: “We are delighted to be launching our fifth outdoor activity at Foxlake as part of our five-year anniversary celebrations.
“The dual and parallel zip course is a great addition to the existing thrill-seeking activities for all ages and abilities at our multi-activity hub in Dunbar. We are confident is going to be another big hit for visitors, whether you want to fly solo or sail through the woods, side by side, with your friends and family.”
The team at Foxlake Adventures, who work closely with various community groups and schools, including Castlebrae High school and Preston Lodge High School where wakeboarding and Foxlake leadership programmes are part of the curriculum, plan to add ZipTrail in to the mix, giving youngsters from all walks of life the chance to challenge themselves through a wide range of action packed outdoor activities.
Official launch event details can be found at Foxlake ZipTrail.
