Written by Fiona

Starting and finishing in Milngavie, this 50km route follows sections of two famous long-distance trails, the West Highland Way and the John Muir Way. There are some kilometres on quiet country roads, too, as the route follows National Cycle Network Route 7.

The views are beautiful, including the Campsie Fells, Ben Lomond and the Arrochar Alps, as well as stunning Loch Lomond.

Start/finish: Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. (You could add a section from Glasgow to Milngavie)

Distance: 50km / 31 miles.

Elevation gain: 686m / 2250ft.
