This June sees the launch of the inaugural Solstice Trail Series organised by Trailfest Scotland at Mugdock Country Park, near Glasgow.
There will be three trail races on consecutive Thursday nights: June 7, 14 and 21. The races increase in length each week from 7km, through 12km to 15km – and the last race is on the Summer Solstice.
Solstice Trail Series races
Race 1: 7km. Thursday June 7. Price: £14
Race 2: 12km. Thursday June 14. Price: £19
Race 3: 15km. Thursday June 21 (Summer Solstice). Price: £21
You can enter all three for £50. The price of entry includes Solstice Trail Series technical t-shirt (a different colour for each race).
All races, which will be chip timed, start at 7pm at Mugdock Country Park visitor centre.
The off-road routes will include wide trails, technical singletrack and hill paths, both inside the park and in Craigallian Woods. The routes will be waymarked and marshalled.
There will be prizes for male and female first, second and third in each race and first, second and third for the overall series, as well as spot prizes
Entrants are also invited to an exclusive trail running evening at Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, Glasgow.
