You might imagine that I took a degree in outdoors pursuits or fitness or sports science or whatever. Maybe if I had my time again I might choose to do that kind of degree but aged 24 I decided to become a Politics student. I simply wanted to learn more about political history and the workings of politics. I loved my degree and graduated with a 2:1 BA Politics Hons.

I’ve never taken my politics any further than a vote and a few friendly-ish discussions about politics. But I do like to listen and read well-judged chat about politics.

Recently I’ve become fascinated by the Scottish independence issue. I want to cut through the spin and make a judged view on what is good, or not so good, for Scotland.

So I’ve started a blog called Convince Me On Independence This is not a place for pro or anti Nationalistic vitriol. It’s a place for evidence, well researched opinion and fact about the future of Scotland as part of the union or as independent. I’d welcome your comment or offers of guest blogs.
